Job Introduction
From 1 December 2025 the pay range for this role will be £47,181 - £53,460 Band 11 (pro rata for part time colleagues). To promote fairness and consistency, all new starters will begin at the bottom of the pay band. This reflects our commitment to equity across the organisation and aligns with the approach taken with existing staff during the transition. While the starting salary is fixed, the role offers excellent scope for growth, meaningful contribution, and being part of a forward-thinking team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accountancy professional to join a progressive large unitary authority.
These are key roles, and we are looking for two candidates with the experience to develop and deliver a robust business partnering service for children’s social care and Housing & Public Protection within our accountancy team. These roles require some experience in local government finance. You will know what best practice looks like as you will be setting professional standards and guide by example.

Roles Purpose
- The main purpose of the roles is to undertake business partnering activities for children's social care and Housing & Public Protection.
Main Responsibilities
- The roles reports to the Finance Manager for Children's Services & the Finance Manager for Housing & Public Protection.
- In liaison with senior officers and budget holders, the work includes budget setting, monitoring and reporting, project work and providing general financial advice and guidance to directors and budget holders.
The Ideal Candidate
- A professional accountancy qualification e.g. CIPFA, CA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent and full current membership of an accountancy body is an essential requirement for the role.
- In addition to being a fully qualified accountant, with strong technical skills, you will have sound business partnering skills and be proficient in data evaluation .
- You should be comfortable explaining complex information to non-finance managers and work well with external stakeholders.
