Start date:  January 2024

Starting salary: UL Contract – Full time equivalent £24,500 per annum / Pro rata salary £21,046 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours. Monday – Friday

Contract type: Permanent

Term time only, including training days

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed person to join us as our Attendance & Safeguarding Officer. This role requires someone who is flexible and willing to learn in order to meet the needs of our school and students and who can work proactively with students and their families to support safeguarding, improve attendance and manage data in a management information system with excellent IT skills. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Attendance & Safeguarding Officer who will work closely with the attendance and safeguarding team with the aim of raising achievement by improving student attendance, helping remove barriers to learning and monitor and support safeguarding at the academy.

Experience in Safeguarding would be an advantage – but training is available.

The ideal candidate will be:

· Outstanding in terms of organisation and ability to work within deadlines

· A good team player, but also to work autonomously

· An excellent communicator

· Pro-active and displays initiative

· IT literate, especially data analysis

· Committed to The Cornerstone Academy’s ethos of high expectations and inclusivity

Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.

People often say after their first visit to The Cornerstone Academy how distinctive the school is, how pioneering we are and yet also how our care and compassion clearly permeates all of our work in all the best ways. Imagine, then, how transformative that environment is for the children who study and grow into adults here. This also applies to our staff; we have a fantastic team, and we are all very proud to be working at the academy.

Closing date: Monday 27th November – noon

Interviews will be held on Friday 1st December

Please be available for interview on the date detailed above; you will be advised by close of play on Monday 27th November if you have been successfully shortlisted.

Please note we reserve the right to close any vacancies from further applications when we have received a minimum amount of applications from which to make a shortlist. Please ensure you apply without delay if you wish to be considered for this role.
